A síndrome de burnout é um fenómeno que resulta de uma tensão emocional crónica, experienciada por profissionais cujo trabalho envolve o relacionamento intenso e frequente com pessoas. O objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer a relação entre stress/burnout e o trabalhado por turnos em 184 colaboradores de uma empresa do setor industrial têxtil localizada na zona centro do país, com idades compreendidas entre os 19 anos e os 60 anos. Foram utilizados como instrumentos de pesquisa, o Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI-PT) e um questionário sociodemográfico para investigar variáveis pessoais e profissionais. Apesar de não se confirmar uma relação significativa entre o trabalho por turnos e o burnout, os valores encontrados evidenciam a existência de níveis moderados.The organization of shift work, when it involves performing night work and social values, can hinder further changes in the employee's physiological, psychological and social adjustment.
