I will be comparing a pro-War magazine, Portugal na Guerra, with another not manifestly political, Ilustração Portugueza, both published in 1917. Taking a cultural anthropological perspective, I will seek to understand how they made notice of the event through visual representations, so allowing a largely illiterate population to acknowledge the military participation.
