Seguindo uma metodologia qualitativa, recolhemos dados junto de dois participantes, sendo estes os avós maternos da criança que tem a doença crónica não identificada. Para a recolha utilizamos a Entrevista Clínica Generacional, direcionada para o estudo dos intercâmbios generacionais, em diferentes situações de vida do casal, para a avaliação clínica e para a intervenção psicológica. Está estruturada em três dimensões: origens de cada membro, formação do casal, desenvolvimento da relação de casal e a passagem à geração seguinte. Neste estudo percebemos o quão importante são os apoios dos avós no desenvolvimento dos netos e quanto os avós sofrem com a notícia da doença no neto. Percebemos ainda que, de facto, as dinâmicas do casal sofreram mudanças aquando o aparecimento da doença do neto, desde a união do casal, mais calma e esperança perante as situações de maior dificuldade. Assim, e com estes resultados percebemos que o casal aponta uma maior projeção para o futuro.The present study has the fundamental purpose of studying the dynamics of a couple of grandparents of a child with chronic illness according to the symbolic relational model. Following a qualitative methodology, we will collect data from two participants, these being the materials of the child who has a chronic illness. For a message, use the Generational Clinical Interview, directed to the study of generational exchanges, in different life situations of the couple, for a clinical evaluation and for a psychological intervention. It is structured in three dimensions: origins of each member, formation of the couple, development of the couple relationship and a passage to the next generation. In this study we realized how important grandparents support is in the development of grandchildren and how much grandparents suffer from the news of the disease in the grandchild. We also noticed that, in fact, the dynamics of the couple underwent changes when the illness of the grandson appeared, since the union of the couple, more calm and hope in the most difficult situations.
