Isto é feito após apresentarmos uma breve biografia de Joseph Ratzinger e termos tentado aferir o que é dito sobre o que é a vocação na Sagrada Escritura e, depois, nos nossos dias. O Papa Bento XVI, em ditas mensagens, apresenta uma abordagem sobre tal temática marcada pela graça e a compreensão do que é a própria vocação. Ela é dita como sendo um chamamento que brota da iniciativa do amor de Deus, que se enxerta na fé cristã e invoca a escuta e o ouvir tal Deus-Comunhão em comunhão; isto é, em Igreja. A própria Igreja, como um todo, é vocação de mistério e comunhão, e é nas Igrejas Locais que normalmente surge o tempo e o espaço onde se apresenta a vocação já entendida e vivida como serviço e testemunho.The ultimate purpose of this paper is to address the topic of vocation according to the words of Benedict XVI for the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. This is done after presenting a brief biography of Joseph Ratzinger and having tried to gauge what is said about vocation in Sacred Scripture and then in our days. Pope Benedict XVI, in these messages, presents an approach to this theme marked by grace and an understanding of what vocation itself is. It is said to be a call that springs from the initiative of God’s love, which is grafted onto the Christian faith and invokes listening and hearing this God-Communion in communion; that is, in the Church.
