Apesar da investigação já desenvolvida, a realidade é que muita dessa pintura está por estudar e identificar. As pinturas sobre madeira que se encontram expostas na sacristia da Sé do Porto são exemplo disso mesmo, uma vez que ainda hoje subsistem várias incógnitas quanto à sua origem e autoria. Neste artigo, com base em diversas fontes documentais (históricas e relatórios de intervenção do IPCR), traça-se o percurso histórico dos painéis dentro da Catedral, e faz-se um estudo comparativo entre materialidade e a técnica dos pintores Francisco Correia e Simão Rodrigues, com vista à atribuição da autoria.Regarding the 16th century and the early of the 17th century, only a few paintings have a secure attributed authorship. This difficulty increases specially with the paintings executed by more than one artist. Despite the research carried out until now, there are still many lacunae to solve by new painting studies and identifications. The wooden panel paintings analyzed in this article are displayed on the walls of the Oporto’s Cathedral sacristy can be mentioned as an example of such problematic. This paper aims to clarify the historical issues related with the permanence of these wooden panel paintings in the Cathedral of Oporto, and to determine its authorship.
