Por um lado, a inteligência artificial permite a prevenção de riscos, doenças ou acidentes no local de trabalho. Salienta-se, entre o mais, as capacidades de gestão e monitorização de comportamentos dos trabalhadores e a utilização das tecnologias de automação baseadas em inteligência artificial, as quais permitem garantir o cumprimento as normas de saúde e segurança no trabalho, minimizando o envolvimento humano em tarefas de alto risco. Por outro lado, esta relação apresenta também desafios, que devem ser identificados e estudados, para que seja possível perceber qual a melhor abordagem à integração da inteligência artificial no local do trabalho. Assim, pretende-se, com esta tese, analisar as principais questões que se colocam e de que forma estas podem ser ultrapassadas, possibilitando a concretização de todos os benefícios que a inteligência artificial pode trazer no âmbito da saúde e segurança no trabalho.The intersection of artificial intelligence technologies with labour law and with health and safety at work, represents a complex scenario with various opportunities and challenges, which is becoming increasingly important. On the one hand, artificial intelligence makes it possible to prevent risks, illnesses or accidents in the workplace. These include the ability to manage and monitor workers' behaviour and the use of automation technologies based on artificial intelligence, which make it possible to guarantee compliance with health and safety standards at work, minimising human involvement in high-risk tasks. On the other hand, this relationship also presents challenges that need to be identified and studied in order to understand the best approach to integrating artificial intelligence into the workplace.
