Neste sentido, a metodologia seguida consistiu na aplicação de uma análise categorial de notícias junto de trinta dias de noticiários, distribuídos ao longo de seis meses de observação, o que possibilitou identificar os principais tópicos retratados nas notícias internacionais produzidas pela RTP3 e a cobertura divergente entre países desenvolvidos e em desenvolvimento. Entre os resultados apurados foi possível encontrar evidências de importância na seleção de assuntos internacionais relacionados com política, desporto e sociedade, tal como do domínio de países ocidentais ou europeus nas notícias do noticiário em estudo.Regarding television as one of the main vehicles for the transmission of images of foreign countries and for the construction of social reality, this article intended to analyze how international news are portrayed and how foreign events are selected by the prime-time newscast 360º, transmitted in RTP3. Therefore, the methodology used consisted in the application of a categorical analysis of 30 days of newscasts, spread throughout six months of observation, which made it possible to identify the main topics portrayed in the foreign news produced by RTP3 and the divergent coverage between developed and developing countries.
