If the natural is understood as the category that pertains to the created reality 3 cosmic and/or human 3 the supernatural refers to the divine order in its relation to the natural. The way in which these categories are assumed deeply influences the interpretation that christians and/or non-christians offer of the universe, the human being, and God. This dissertation seeks to investigate how the christian theological tradition understands the natural, the supernatural, and their relationship. To this end, it follows a historical theological itinerary that traces the development of the question from biblical foundations to Modernity (Part I); and explores the reflection of Henri de Lubac 3 the author who most thoroughly addressed this issue within the context of twentieth-century theological renewal (Part II). Through this introduction to the theology of the natural-supernatural relationship, the aim is to highlight its importance for the development of a theological framework capable of offering interpretative keys for understanding the contemporary world and its challeAo longo da tradição teológica cristã, os conceitos de natural e sobrenatural foram escolhidos para descrever os dois elementos envolvidos em relações como a de Deus e a humanidade; dos homens e os seus semelhantes; da Igreja e o mundo, ou ainda entre a criação e o divino. Se o natural é assumido como a categoria que diz respeito à realidade criada 3 cósmica e/ou humana 3 o sobrenatural refere-se à ordem divina na sua relação com o natural. A maneira como ambos são assumidos influencia profundamente a leitura que cristãos e/ou não cristãos fazem do universo, do ser humano, e de Deus. Assim, esta dissertação procura investigar a maneira como a tradição teológica cristã perspetiva o natural, o sobrenatural e a relação entre ambos. Para isso, atravessa um itinerário histórico-teológico que percorre o desenvolvimento da questão desde os fundamentos bíblicos até à Modernidade (Parte I); e explora a reflexão de Henri de Lubac 3 o autor que mais refletiu sobre a problemática no contexto do renovamento da teologia contemporânea do século XX (Parte II).
