A esperança no livro de Job é uma esperança em ato, é a esperança da personagem Job. Segundo F. Mies, a esperança diz respeito ao sentido do movimento, tensão e inclinação para algo. A esperança exprime uma intencionalidade. Esta intencionalidade diz respeito aos dois sentidos do movimento: o primeiro movimento tem a ver com o próprio verbo “esperar” (eu espero); o segundo movimento ou objeto diz respeito ao substantivo “expectativa” (o esperado). Por isso, esses movimentos podem ser vistos tanto do ponto de vista antropológico como do ponto de vista da dinâmica do movimento da esperança. O presente estudo divide-se em três grandes blocos: breve status quaestionis da teologia da esperança; o livro de Job no horizonte de uma teologia da esperança; e apreciação do contributo da obra de F. Mies sobre o livro de Job. Em suma, podemos notar que o contributo da obra de Françoise Mies, constitui um marco significativo da exegese atual, no âmbito dos estudos sobre o livro de Job.The present study aims to delineate and understand how the Book of Job can be placed in the context of a theology of Hope without, however, losing its specificity in the whole of Biblical Revelation. The hope in the book of Job is a hope in act, it is the hope of the character Job. According to F. Mies, the hope refers to the sense of movement, tension and inclination to something. Hope expresses an intentionality. This intentionality concerns the two senses of the movement: the first movement has to do with the verb itself “to expect” (I hope); the second movement or object refers to the noun “expectation” (what is expected). These movements can be seen both from the anthropological point of view and from the point of view of the dynamics of the movement of hope. The present study is divided in three great blocks: brief status quaestionis of the theology of hope; the book of Job on the horizon of a theology of hope; appreciation of the contribution of the work of F. Mies on the Book of Job. In short, we can note that this work of F.
