A teoria das forças : uma abordagem capacitadora em serviço social : em contexto de vulnerabilidade societal

| dc.description.abstract | A presente tese centra-se na análise das possibilidades e limites da teoria das forças em Serviço Social, enquanto abordagem capacitadora, visando compreender como se pode construir a capacidade de ação dos sujeitos em situação de vulnerabilidade. O itinerário analítico enquadra este objecto de investigação, quer no debate atual sobre o lugar da teoria em Serviço Social enquanto «teoria para a prática», quer, numa perspetiva mais ampla, no debate sobre a capacitação dos indivíduos no atual contexto societário marcado por profundas transformações sociais e dinâmicas de vulnerabilização. A estratégia metodológica adotada enquadra-se na perspetiva da investigação qualitativa, tendo-se utilizado como procedimento fundamental, o estudo de caso múltiplo e como unidade de estudo os processos de intervenção profissional. Constituiu-se uma amostra teórica de 8 assistentes sociais que, em diferentes áreas da política social realizam a sua intervenção com indivíduos em situação de vulnerabilidade social, num total de 16 casos. Adoptando uma abordagem quase-experimental a investigação empírica desenvolveu-se em três fases principais: a análise dos casos selecionados com base nos processos sociais e em entrevistas individuas e de grupo; a apresentação da proposta da teoria das forças e por ultimo um segundo conjunto de entrevistas individuais e de grupo. O estudo permitiu concluir que uma intervenção desenvolvida segundo o referencial da teoria das forças se transforma num movimento múltiplo abrangendo o processo de intervenção, o profissional e o utente, potenciando uma abordagem diferente aos problemas sociais, mas também a reconstrução da cultura profissional. A relação colaborativa e a visão de projeto permitem considerar a teoria das forças uma proposta diferenciadora na construção de processos de capacitação, evidenciando simultaneamente a força da teoria enquanto guia da ação. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This study is centred in the analysis of the possibilities and limits of the Strengths based practice as an enabling approach to Social Work, aiming to understand how one can empower individuals in a vulnerability situation. The analytic itinerary sets this object of investigation in the present debate about the place of theory in Social Work as “practice theory” from which the main references of practice come from, as well as, in a wider perspective, on the debate about empowering the individual in the present social environment deeply affected by profound social changes and vulnerability dynamics. The methodology adopted is within the perspective of the qualitative investigation, having used as main procedure the multiple case study and as study unit the processes of professional intervention. There is a theoretical sample of eight social workers who in different areas of social politics interact with individuals in social vulnerability situations, in a total of sixteen cases. Adopting a semi-experimental approach, the empirical investigation was developed in three phases: the analysis of the selected cases based on social processes and on the individual and group interviews, the presentation of the Strengths perspective, and at last, a second set of individual and group interviews. This study allows us to conclude that an intervention developed according to the Strengths perspective, becomes a multiple movement reaching the process of intervention, the professional and the client, enabling a different approach to social problems and also a reconstruction of the professional culture. The cooperative relation and the vision of project consent the Strengths based approach as a unlike proposal in the constitution of empowering processes, simultaneously outstanding the strength of the theory as an action guide. | por |
